Bladder Defined
The bladder is a muscular organ, which lies in the pelvis and is supported by the pelvic floor muscle. The bladder has only two functions; to stretch to allow the storage of urine and to contract to enable the expulsion of urine. The term detrusor is used to refer to the smooth muscle structure of the bladder.
